About five years ago, in 2003, two of the present members of this group met by coincidence and had an idea, they dared to dream, traced goals and draw, intuitively, a project…

That was how the sound of MU was born in Porto.

The music is so diverse and cheerful as the band members are and it is mostly inspired by the sounds of the european musical tradition, by using and blending worldwide instruments.

Already considered a band with a hoarse, nomad and circus-like style, it is this profile that allows them to open smiles wherever they play and to win the folk music festival "Arribas Folk" in Sendim, Miranda do Douro, Portugal.

Festivals like Andanças, Intercéltico de Sendim, Danzas sin Fronteras, Intercéltico do Porto, Galdames Folk, among others, witnessed the energy that they still bless the audience.

The six faces of this group share a common aim: to make everybody dance!

To talk about MU and not about the importance of the "passage" would be to limit life to its transitority. Surely, there would be much more behind the door…
Inconformed, they rose.
They reinvented colors and flavours and, sharing affection, they decided to go in search of dreams. Deeply in sintony with earth, they danced in circle.
They traveled on donkeys’ backs on the paths of Sendim. They enjoyed "Andanças", they were kings in "Arribas" and "Sin Fronteras" and generated "Mundanças".
They were, are and will be MU, nomads by thought, musicians by passion, true friends.
Five years have passed and they grew more mature, their roots are burried deeper, watering them with the purest water and their tradition bloomed.

They asked me to talk about MU and I was compelled to talk about gratitude.
